State Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins, D-Yonkers, has announced the AFFIRM Ed Task Force will hold a Town-Hall Meeting on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Greenburgh Town Hall.

Larchmont resident gets Fulbright; headed to Morocco

Jacqueline Powers of Larchmont has been selected by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board to receive a Fulbright award to Morocco. Jandon Scholars named by county

Fifteen low-income students from 10 high schools today were each awarded scholarships of up to $10,000 over 4 years through the county’s Jandon Scholars program.

Manhattanville students recognized for volunteer work

Non-profit housing agency Westhab Inc. is holding an event this week to mark National Volunteer Recognition Week, and will give Manhattanville College students its “Presidential Service Award” for their work with homeless children.

The event is Wednesday evening at the college’s Reid Castle.
