November
4

Live in the Greenburgh school district and have a question about your local schools? You can take your inquiry right to the top at an upcoming “Meet The Principals” community meeting.

On Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m., the Parent Teacher Association is inviting residents Highview School, 200 North Central Ave., to meet and talk with the principals of all the schools in the district.

The principals, who will participate in a roundtable discussion, are Dawn Male, Early Childhood Program; Patricia Simone, Lee F. Jackson School; Gary Mastrangelo, Highview School; Marguerite Clarkson, Richard J. Bailey School; Michael Chambless, Woodlands Middle School; and Ronald Ross, Woodlands High School.

Dinner will be served, child care is offered and a Spanish translator will be available. If you go, come back and let us know your thoughts.

    What ? no French/German/Italian/Hindi… translator?
why spanish? oh yeah maybe because they dont feel it necessary to try to learn. because why else would the other nationalities not be represented.

I am tired of seeing one nationality toadied to over others. if we are so diverse then we either need to be equally diverse in how we treat translation. which means unless you are a visitor then when you go to a function for residence you assume english otherwise they can bring their children.

I believe in equality and fairness and actually I am quite offended to have to press 1 for english in my own country.

Last week, the district confirmed that Highview School Principal Gary Mastrangelo is being investigated by the state for “procedural errors” on state tests in his second- and third-grade school building.

Will they talk about how one school is so happy that the principal has been out? Teachers are working and not getting yelled at for mistakes they didn’t make, but the principal made! Even the kids are happy! What a difference one person can make!
Plus, Central 7 needs to tell parents the truth!
