St. Margaret’s students perform at Lincoln Center

October
27

Students from Pearl River’s St. Margaret of Antioch Elementary School will perform with the internationally recognized Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall at 8 p.m. Thursday.

The children, from grades 4-8, will join students from schools throughout the metro area to create an ensemble choir to sing with the youth orchestra during theĀ  New York leg of its 2009 tour.

“Our school is privileged to partake in such an extraordinary event,” said principal Carolyn Slattery. “It will be the experience of a lifetime for our lucky students, their teachers, and their families.”

The orchestra was founded in 1995 to promote peace and reconciliation within Ireland as well as worldwide. It currently includes 150 musicians from ages 12 to 24 from throughout Ireland.

The Saint Margaret students will perform eight numbers, including “No Wars Will Stop Us Singing.”
