Here’s some news for coaches from Putnam/Northern BOCES:

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS – Local coaches can complete required coursework at the Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES’ Yorktown Campus.

The course requirements in the regulations of the commissioner of education are intended to give educators an understanding of basic philosophy of athletics in education, the health-related aspects of athletics, and the techniques used to coach a specific sport.

Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES will offer Philosophy, Principles, and Organization of Athletics in Education, a 45-hour course, beginning Nov. 9. The course will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the School Services Building.
