Peekskill seeks volunteers for finance and other committees

The Peekskill school district sent out word this morning that it is seeking volunteers to serve on several district committees that help officials with budgeting, facilities planning and other items.
From a district e-mail:
The Board of Education is looking for citizens interested in joining any one of the following committees. Residents must submit a letter of interest and a resume highlighting experience. Send to District Clerk Debra McLeod, Peekskill City School District, 1031 Elm Street, Peekskill, NY 10566.• Audit Committee: Board representatives meet with a group of citizens annually to review the finding of external audit committee. Meets about four times a year.
• Facilities Planning: Meets twice monthly at 8:30 a.m. with community members and representatives from construction firms.
• Become an Early College High School: Proposed grant application would create comprehensive college preparatory programs for first generation college goers. Unsure yet of frequency.
• Budget/Forecasting and Planning: Will assist the board in the development of a 2010/11 budget and long-range trend projections for fiscal stability. Meets two times a month through April 10
• Polices and Procedures for Community Use of New Swimming Pool: Will reexamine community use of all facilities and create of new mission statement along with security fees and custodial fees. Meets regularly, at least once a month for the first year of pool operations.
