Security enhancements at Hendrick Hudson

June
20

From the Hen-Hud school district..

Designs for a variety of district-wide security enhancements funded by a $911,708 EXCEL grant have been approved by the New York State Education Department, with installations scheduled to begin over the summer.

The enhancements include the installation of closed circuit cameras, electronic access pads, improved public address systems and other physical security measures. The EXCEL grant was approved by voters in 2008. Completion of installation is currently scheduled for late 2009.

The state EXCEL (Expanding our Children’s Education and Learning) program provides a reimbursement for the costs of specific security and health capital projects in school districts. There is minimal cost to taxpayers.
