Each year the Westchester-Putnam School Boards Association awards, in conjunction with and presented by the local school districts, a certificate that honors the contributions of school board members to public education.

The certificate states that the recipient, as a school board member, has shown commitment to educational excellence and has shown constructive leadership that has enhanced the quality of education provided to the students in their district.
