New wing opened at Mamaroneck Avenue School

January
8

The White Plains school district has completed construction of a three-story addition to Mamaroneck Avenue school and is inviting the public to tour the facility tomorrow morning.

A new library and computer center are part of the new wing, which also features a music room and small group instruction rooms, said Michele Schoenfeld, district clerk. The addition cost $4.6 million, with the money coming from a $66 million bond approved by voters in 2006, she said.

The school, located at 7 Nosband Ave., will host an open house tomorrow, Jan. 9, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. For information, call the school at (914) 422-2286.
