Hi, I’m Penny I’m a Beagle. I have a sister and a mother. I was just born yesterday in a shed. A nice Family came over and took me to their house. I sleep in their garage on an old comforter; it is a little cold at night. I get feed really early in the morning and late at night.

A lot of people are coming over this Family’s house and they are having some kind of bird thing for dinner. Maybe if I hop on that chair I can have some, I just need to wait for him to get up out of his chair. VOOM! I jumped on the chair on the table and almost got to it and then the big one grabbed me and called me a bad girl and that was bad what I did. So they put me in the garage.

Today they let me behind their house and I saw a thing jumping around, it had big ears and a puffy tail. I chased after it thinking it might want to play. It got under the fence so I couldn’t get to it. Then one of the people in the Family said “Hey Penny, you chasing after little rabbit aren’t you”. I reacted by tilting my head with a curious expression on my face, but right there I thought maybe if I caught one it would make these people feel proud of me. I tried so many times to catch one but I couldn’t get one.

The Family is putting this tree up in their house and there has been this cold stuff that came from the sky. One morning all people in the Family were around the tree giving each other bags and boxes then one of them gave me a squeaky thing that looked like a rabbit thing I saw in their backyard a while ago.

They started letting me sleep in the kitchen in a little crate. Over time I am having trouble getting on chairs and my back hearts a lot. The people took me to a place were they put me on a scale and a man in coat gave me a thing called an X-Ray. They told the people that take care of me I have a thing called a herniated disk. The man said it was common in most beagles.

The people I live with brought me back to another man in a white coat’s house and they left me there. They did a few tests on me and shaved my hair in a few places on my chest and a patch on my back. They gave me a shot that made me fall asleep and I woke up feeling a little better in my back.

A few months later they let me in their backyard and I saw one of those rabbit things and noticed it was just lying in the grass so I thought maybe if I would just crawl on the ground, very very quiet and sneak up on it. E-a-s-y d-o-e-s i-t, I got it with my teeth and was so happy I started running around the backyard with that rabbit in my mouth. Then I went up to the back door and my family saw me. They were so happy they started petting me and giving me doggy treats. They took these things called camera’s and started taking pictures. I felt so proud of myself.
