Anti-smoking campaign featured in Peekskill, Nyack highs

The American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout is bringing its message to two area high schools Thursday: Peekskill High and Nyack High.
Both schools have set aside time for students to meet with doctors, Cancer Society officials and community members to discuss the affect of smoking on the body and ways to combat media influence.
Visiting in Peekskill are Dr. George Pazos of ENT and Allergy Associates; Mekeda James of POW’R Against Tobacco; and James Duffy of Reality Check.
Visiting at Nyack are Dr. Jared Wasserman of ENT and Allergy Associates; Danielle Heller of the American Cancer Society; Denise Hogan of POW’R Against Tobacco; and members of Reality Check.
