North Salem chidren learn about fire safety

October

Pequenakonck Elementary School kicked off its Fire Safety Week on Tuesday with a visit to the school from the Croton Falls Fire Department.

The firefighters were on hand to teach kindergartners not only what to expect if the fire department comes to their home, but also what they should do in the event of a fire. The younger grades got to watch an outdoor demonstration with the fire truck, while the older kids had classroom presentations.
