The Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District will post whatever documentation is available on its Web site before school board work sessions are held. In the past, the district had always provided an overview on its Web site after every board work-session meeting on the school budget.
“This way, the process will be clearer for the community,” says new Assistant Superintendent for Business and Technology Barbara Briganti.
The information published will be more detailed than in the past, and, in addition, board meetings will be televised and broadcast through Web streaming starting in November.
The budget information on the Web site will be cumulative. “Before each component is presented at the meetings, we will post whatever information we have,” says Briganti. “It will be a fluid document, in that it is subject to change, but it will be updated regularly,” she added. In addition to more information, Briganti has also provided a glossary of terms explaining many acronyms.
“We will, of course, continue with our open-door policy to the community, should they want to discuss anything with us,” she says.
