In yesterday’s paper, we printed a sample math problem provided by Richard Neal, founder of the U.S. High School Mathematics Championship. Here it is:

A palindromic number is a number that reads the same forward and backward. How many non-negative palindromic numbers exist that are four digits or less? Note as for example that 010 would not be considered to be a palindromic number as it is simply the number 10. Single digit numbers such as 2 should be considered to be palindromic numbers.
