Put-North BOCES grants tenure to 19

The Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES board recently approved tenure for several teachers and instructors. They are:
• Karen Carey of Mahopac. She began as a medical assisting teacher and has been a school counselor since 2006 in the Career and Technical Education program.
• Patricia Gallo of Brewster. She’s worked her way up to health teacher in the CTE program.
• Abigail Kapps of Cold Spring. She’s a cosmetology teacher at The Tech Center and a teacher in the BOCES middle school-level summer Beauty Camp
• David Lally of Croton. He’s a social studies teacher at the Regional Alternative High School.
• Suzanne Guarino-Bruce of Carmel. She’s a reading specialist on the BOCES campus and in local schools.
• Joseph Spatola of Valhalla. He’s a social studies teacher at the Regional Alternative High School.
• Dorothy Pascale of North Salem,. She’s a teacher at The Pines Bridge School for the multiply disabled.
• Laurie Pyburn of Dobbs Ferry. She’s a speech and language pathologist at The Pines Bridge School and is expert in using the students’ assistive technology.
• Michele Smail of Carmel. She’s a teaching assistant at The Pines Bridge School and is active in the school’s Community Outreach Program.
• Laurie Cohen of Pleasantville. A teacher in the CLASS program at Walden, which serves students with autism.
• Richard Guaragna of Mount Kisco. She’s a social studies teacher in the OASIS program at Walter Panas High School in Lakeland.
• Patty Lucido of Cortlandt. She’s a science teacher at The Learning Center and Regional Alternative High School.
• Nathan Ball of Verplanck. She’s a high school social studies teacher at The Learning Center and Regional Alternative High School.
• Randy Hill of Ossining. She’s a school social worker.
