Founding RCC faculty member dies

RAMAPO — Raymond K. Rossiter, a founding faculty member of Rockland Community College, passed away on June 15, the college announced. He was 85. Rossiter, born in China as the son of missionary parents, became RCC’s first student activity director and taught social sciences for 30 years. He retired in 1989 and became a professor emeritus in 1993. He moved to Tom’s River, N.J., in 1991, where he lived until is death. Rossiter, a WWII veteran, is survived by his wife, Enid Antonia Rossiter, children and grandchildren.
