The Clarkstown Education Foundation announced the recipients of its first $1,000 student scholarships and $500 teacher mini-grants, which were presented at last week’s school board meeting. The winners are:
Clarkstown High School North Student Scholarship Winners
1st Place Alexandra Atzl – $1,000
(Attending Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall)
2nd Place Laurie Stern – $1,000
(Attending Penn State University in the fall)
Clarkstown High School South Student Scholarship Winners
1st Place Matthew Negrin – $1,000
(Attending Cornell University in the fall)
2nd Place Lauren Bosso – $1,000
(Attending Brown University in the fall)
Teacher Grant Winners

The student scholarships were chosen based on essays on how technology improved their learning in Clarkstown. Teacher grants were selected based on their ideas proposed for new SMART Board programs.
The Clarkstown Education Foundation is an independent not-for-profit organization. Its primary purpose is to provide funding for supplemental educational projects and activities for local students.
