UPDATE, 3:48 p.m.: We’re havin’ a heat wave!

UPDATE, fresh off the e-mail:

The North Rockland Schools will have an early dismissal for middle school and elementary school students due to the continuing heat. Middle School students will be dismissed at noon. Elementary school students will be dismissed at 12:30. There will be no lunch for elementary and middle school students and no afternoon kindergarten or pre-kindergarten.

Tomorrow will be a regular school day for students at Fieldstone Secondary School and North Rockland High School. Both of those buildings are air conditioned.


EARLIER NEWS: Nyack schools are shutting early today because of the intense heat sweeping through the region.

The high school shut at 11 a.m., the middle school at 11:45 and the elementary schools at noon.

South Orangetown canceled its Field Day today.

Clarkstown’s “monitoring” the situation.

We’ll update this as other schools and districts share their plans.
