Ardsley student removed following threats

June
4

Ardsley Schools Superintendent Jason Friedman said a middle-school student will be placed in an alternative setting until at least the end of the school year after threats he allegedly made caused the school to be evacuated yesterday right as state tests began.

The decision comes after approximately 150 parents rallied at the school early this morning. Parents have been calling for the 14-year-old boy to be expelled, saying they would keep their children home from school until he is removed.

Approximately 120 students out of 740 total enrolled were absent from school today, according to the superintendent.

How long has this been going on and why hasn’t something been done about it?

    ed,

parents tell me this kid has been trouble since elementary school and that this was the breaking point.

Considering today was also a key day for review of material for state tests it is unconsiousable that the Board took this long to take action.

  4. Former Employee

This is all because of the new administration and their need for tenure. The former adminstration suspended this student and he was punished for prior things. The new Principal at the middle school enrolled her child in the school and wants to keep him there and didn’t want to rock the boat

  5. Logic

    Educational paralysis.

Wait but he is not kick out of the school district, that means he is going to be at the high school next year?

All it says is we will be attending alternative facility untill at least the end of the year. Big Deal. So he will take finals in a secluded location. I expect a big turnout on the 11th. And I hope for a Board member resignation. I am tired of imperial board members and govt officials who feel they have no accountability and are above the law.
