The following letter went out last night to Ardsley parents…
Open Letter to the Ardsley Community
Dear Fellow Community Members:
We are sure by now that everyone is aware of the events that have taken place at the Ardsley Middle School the past two days. Our community has become the focus of numerous news stories and it is hurting the strong reputation that Ardsley has achieved.
The current District Administration as well as our elected Board of Education has placed one child and family well ahead of the entire community. In spite of numerous incidents and complaints our community is taking a major hit to the reputation of our school system. The same school system that we all have moved here for. There is no water-front property, beautiful downtown or expansive parks here in Ardsley. It is the reputation as being one of the finest school systems in the state that we moved here for and it is now being impacted negatively by one Board Member and her son.
We are asking for your help in two ways:
1. To document any incidents directly involving your child and (name of child removed) that has occurred in school or on school grounds. This is regardless of when the occurrence took place. This should be based on direct knowledge as to the nature of the incident and should be attested to in writing.
2. PLEASE come to the Ardsley Middle School tomorrow morning at 7:30am to help attempt to obtain information as to what the intentions of the School District and the Board of Education are for the continued safety of our children and how they are going to start the restoration of Ardsley’s reputation.
We are thanking you in advance for your support in helping this situation being mutually resolved.
Respectively,
Concerned Parents
