Principal puckers up for pig

May
14

It was the moment for which hundreds of students waited a whole school year: the principal-pig smooch.

This morning, Doug Berry, principal of Springhurst Elementary School in Dobbs Ferry puckered up for Daisy, the pot-bellied pig. Last fall, Berry agreed to kiss a pig if his students read 20,000 books by May 1. Apparently very eager to see such a spectacle, they read 28,000. So in two assemblies, Berry, dressed in a tuxedo, planted one on the pig, who traveled all the way from her farm in Connecticut for the big day.

Berry kept the kiss G-rated, planting one on what, I guess, is the pig’s cheek. Can’t wait to how many books the kids read next year……and what Berry does then.
