Among the highlights of her work there, upon opening the school of 2,800 students in South Central Los Angeles, were the design of a school infrastructure that included small learning communities, 4×4 block scheduling, a collaborative model for special education students, and a full range of athletics and extracurricular activities.

She has a master’s degree in educational leadership from California State University, Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a specialization in statistics from the University of California, Irvine.
