Port Chester students to get taste of college

April
14

JoAnne Ferrara, chair of Curriculum and Instruction at Manhattanville College, sent us this dispatch:

Students at the Thomas A. Edison School in Port Chester will be visiting Manhattanville College on April 17th for a “Career to College Day”. The purpose of this visit is one attempt to help to close the achievement gap by exposing “hard to reach” students to the college experience. For most of these students college is not a viable option; so we hope that bringing them to campus for a tour and discussions with various departments and college students will encourage them to think about college. Student teachers and field placement students interning at Edison this semester will conduct the tour. This program is one of the many collaborative initiatives of the Professional Development School Partnership between Manhattanville and the Edison School.
