College aid workshop tonight in Yonkers

April
9

The Sallie Mae Fund, in partnership with the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities, is offering a free college financial aid workshop tonight in Yonkers.

A $500 college scholarship will be awarded to one participating high school junior or senior.

Workshop presenter Arnold Hernandez grew up as the youngest of seven in a migrant farmworker family, and became the first person in his family to graduate with a college degree.

Hernandez, a financial aid expert, has just completed a 60-city tour on the “Paying for College” Bus Tour.

The event is at the Yonkers Riverfront Library auditorium, 1 Larkin Center, Yonkers, NY 10701. The event begins with refreshments at 6 p.m. and a 75-minute presentation and question-and-answer session starting at 6:30 p.m.
