4

High school students from this area are participating in educational programs related to an exhibit of the correspondence between John and Abigail Adams now on display at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie.

According to a press person for the exhibit, some of the teachers are expected to meet with author David McCullough at the school tomorrow, and both teachers and students will be on campus for a full day of studies on April 26. McCullough wrote a biography of Adams that drew from the correspondence.

Educators participating include: Ann Marie McLeod, Brewster High School; Kate Charleston, Ossining School District; Alexis Mahood, White Plains High School; and Lumi Vicari, Yonkers High School.

The exhibit, “My Dearest Friend: The Letters of Abigail and John Adams” opens Monday and remains on display through April 30. It is free and open to the public.
