Adam Clare, of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, says we should not be afraid to embrace the Internet for learning.

Mr. Clare certainly seems well intentioned in his efforts to stimulate internet use in schools, but I was surprised by his remark about using the web for “political change.” Perhaps I’m misunderstanding him here, but should educators be pushing political change in the classroom? Doing so via the web or through any other means strikes me as a bit of a stretch in an educational environment.
