See the spellers!

April
28

The East Ramapo school district held its first annual district spelling bee on Thursday night.

Eighteen students, all of whom won earlier contests at their respective elementary schools, competed at the Town of Ramapo Cultural Arts Center.

All participants received Scrabble games, and winners Philip Ozuah (1st place) from Eldorado Elementary, Grace Ducasse (2nd place) from Lime Kiln Elementary and Bryce Manning (3rd place) from Grandview Elementary — the trio is pictured below — each received $50 savings bonds from the Chestnut Ridge branch of Chase Bank.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to Geri Sullivan for passing along the photos!
