Revenge of the over-tested

I cannot wait until this game show debuts Tuesday on FOX.
“Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? will reveal how much adults have forgotten since elementary school, according to its Web site.
The questions will be taken from actual textbooks. They’ll cover stuff like math, science, geography, history and could be as simple as: what are the names of the five Great Lakes?
(Personally I think that question’s bad. It gives a contestant a helpful hint. I’ll bet there are a lot of adults who can’t remember how many Great Lakes there are.)
And to add insult and interest, the players can get help – they can ask a kid.
That’s the way “for contestants to “cheat in this classroom, chirps the press release. Oh, TV creates such good role models for children.
I certainly plan to watch. This may be as good a way as we’ll get to see how adults would do if stuck in the standardized testing regimen our nation’s children must start in the second grade.

Haha! Can I just say, I’m a senior in college and i just know I would do horribly on that show.
OK, this isn’t the point of the post, but the answer is HOMES. (Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior).
Three cheers for growing up in northeastern Ohio!
