This story is making the rounds faster than a kid marked “it” — officials at a Massachusetts elementary school, citing safety concerns, have banned tag, touch football and other “chase games” during recess.
Other schools in Wyoming and Washington, the article notes, have imposed similar bans. For more details on what drove a tag ban at an elementary school in Washington state, check out this story in the The Spokesman-Review. (You might have to register first.)

and people complain there’s a rise in childhood obesity.
That’s ridiculous! Tag was one of the sports even the kids could play. All you needed was another body and a place to run around. Now they’ll just have to play “Catch the Brick” and “Homework.”
I meant poor kids. Damn fast fingers!
