Keeping an eye on education

Sensible shoes

August
7

There’s a lot going on in education around here, and we plan to give it all the old hairy eyeball.

We’ll proudly point out to everybody the many amazing things that go on in our schools. And we’ll chase slackers and malefactors down the corridors of power.

Please stay tuned — and stay in touch.

Love the name of this blog! It will be interesting to follow what’s going on. Thank you for being ahead of the curve, especially with a sense of humor.

Excellent blog. Talk to the teachers. Talk to the kids. The public wants to know how the schools are doing, but test scores never tell the whole story.

I once asked my 7th grade English class to write down the one thing they learned during the year that really made an impression. One boy wrote, “I learned to like who I am.”

Now how do you measure that on a standardized test?

—wow! that’s amazingly powerful. thanks for sharing, lorraine. that’s a testiment to you as a teacher, that you were able to make this boy feel so good about himself.
